Meet Charlie

Proven Leadership:

Charlie is a member and former director of the Yolo County Taxpayers Association. He is a former elected school board member and currently serves as a director of the Esparto Community Services District.

Charlie Schaupp is a retired officer of the United States Marine Corps, and Iraq War veteran.

Charlie stood out in the Primary as the best-qualified to represent our communities and return control of our state government to you, the voters!

4th Generation Yolo County Farming Family:

Charlie Schaupp is a member of a fifth-generation farm family.  His family has been farming in our Congressional District since the 1880s.

From a lifetime of experience in agriculture and farming Charlie understands the importance of our district’s water, soil and national resources. These vital resources allow our farms to thrive and our communities to grow.

Charlie earned an associate degree in agricultural business from Yuba College. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in Agriculture from California State University, Chico with an emphasis in Soils, Irrigation and Drainage.

A Water Science specialist, Schaupp engaged in additional graduate studies in Hydrology and Water Resource Development, viticulture and enology.

“My family has grown crops and operated a family farm in Western Yolo County since the 1880’s. It is vitally important for our future that we protect the soil, water and resources that provide our food, livelihoods, and rural way of life.”

28 Years of Service in U.S. Marines:

Charlie is a retired officer of the United States Marine Corps, a veteran of both Desert Storm and the Battle of Fallujah, Iraq. He is a proven leader who has served in both peace and war. Charlie, first hand, understands the importance of our nation’s defense, the needs of both our veterans, and the needs of our active duty military.

Charlie believes that, as the Constitution states, no issue can be more important than “provide for the common defense” of our freedoms and liberty.
